Per-model rates
Why some models cost more with timestamps
Most models hand back word-level timing as a natural by-product of generating the audio, so turning timestamps on costs nothing extra — their Speech Only and With Timestamps prices are identical.
A few models don't expose that timing. For those we run an extra timestamp recovery passover the generated audio to recover where each word lands. That added processing has a real cost, so their With Timestamps price is higher — that's the only reason the two columns differ. The number you see is the all-in price; there's no separate surcharge.
On BYOK your key pays the TTS provider, but timestamp recovery still runs through Speechbase — you don't need to bring a separate key for it. The 3.4% platform fee is taken on whichever price applies to the request.
